Common questions about integrating and earning with Preads.
Create an app under Publisher → Apps. An API key is generated immediately and is shown on the app's detail page.
Important: a new app is created as pending and does not work until
an administrator approves it. Until then a valid key gets
403 App not found or inactive, and an unrecognised key redirects the visitor back to
the home page. Your credentials are visible while you wait, but they are not usable yet.
When an offerwall conversion is created and again when its status is resolved, Preads sends a
single GET request to your postback URL with the values substituted in. There is
one attempt, no retry, and no signature.
Two things to know: your postback is a notification rather than a confirmation — the conversion is already recorded and credited before it is sent — and Content Locker and Link Locker conversions never post back at all. See Postback Setup.
Almost always a missing userId. The wall renders perfectly without one, which is
why this is easy to miss — but the click that registers an offer requires it, so nothing
is tracked and no conversion can occur.
Check that your iframe src contains a non-empty userId, and that it
uses only URL-safe characters.
Because there is no {currency} macro. There is also no
{timestamp}, {website_id}, {payout_local} or
{app_id}. Unsupported macros are not replaced and not reported as
errors — they are sent verbatim, braces included. Remove them from your URL. The postback
page lists every macro that does exist.
No, not on its own. Outbound postbacks carry no signature and no shared secret,
so anyone who learns your URL can forge one. The postback_secret shown in your app
settings does not sign anything and cannot be used for verification.
Validate instead by requiring {transaction_id} to match a conversion you were
already expecting, use it as an idempotency key, and cap credits per user per period.
Your balance increases as soon as conversions are approved. Payouts themselves are automatic: on the 1st of each month Preads creates an invoice covering the previous month, on NET-30 terms, provided the total meets the minimum payout and you have an active payout method saved.
There is no withdrawal request to submit. See Withdrawals.
Usually not. Rejecting a conversion reduces your balance immediately, while the reported earnings figure may still include that conversion until the figures refresh. Report figures are cached for a few minutes, so allow for that too. The withdrawals page explains the difference.
Not from the browser. The lockers emit no unlock event and send no postMessage, so a
browser listener will never fire. For a custom locker integration, poll the locker's
/progress endpoint, which reports whether the visitor has unlocked. For
offerwall conversions, use a postback.
No. The advertiser area is part of your publisher account and uses the same login, and campaign spend is deducted from the same wallet balance. If you want to buy traffic to monetise your own properties, you use the advertiser area of the account you already have.
Every documentation page has a Troubleshooting table covering the failures reported for that topic, and the Quick Start page links out to each area. If the problem is not covered there, contact your platform operator through the channel below.
