Advertising on Preads

Buying traffic to send to your own properties.

There is no separate advertiser account. The advertiser area is part of your publisher account and uses the same sign-in, and campaign spend is deducted from the same wallet balance you withdraw earnings from. If you want to buy traffic for properties you already monetise, you use the advertiser area of the account you already have.

Campaign types

Type You are billed for How it completes
CPC Ads A verified visit — a user reaching your page and staying for the configured duration. When the purchased number of visits is delivered.
CPV Ads A verified view of your video for the configured duration. When the purchased number of views is delivered.
Banner Ads Prepaid impressions or clicks on your banner. When the purchased volume is delivered.
Micro Jobs A fixed payment per worker who completes your task and whose proof you approve. When the required number of workers is reached.

The locker tools — Content Locker and Link Locker — are publisher tools, not advertising products. They are not available to buy, and they do not consume your balance.

How pricing works

You do not set prices or bids, and there is no budget field. There is no bid or budget setting anywhere in the advertiser area. Instead, your operator configures a price table, and you choose from it.
  • For CPC and CPV you pick a visit or view duration from your operator's timer table. The price for that duration, and the percentage fee, are already set for you. Longer durations generally cost more.
  • Certain countries carry a premium on top of the base rate, also set by your operator.
  • For banners your operator sets a unit price per click or per thousand impressions.

The total is calculated when you create the campaign and shown to you before you commit.

Campaigns are prepaid and self-completing

The full amount is deducted from your balance when the campaign is created, not incrementally as traffic arrives. A campaign then runs until its purchased volume is delivered, at which point it completes automatically.

You cannot top up or extend a running campaign. Once the volume is delivered the campaign is finished. To continue, create a new campaign — and be aware that a campaign which never delivers its full volume has still consumed its budget.

A campaign only serves traffic while it is approved and undelivered, so the window between approval and completion is when your money is working.

Targeting

Only country targeting is actually applied.

The campaign forms let you select devices, operating systems and browsers, and those selections are saved — but they are not used when deciding who sees your campaign. If you need a specific audience, do not rely on those selectors; only your country list affects delivery.

Devices are what the visitor's browser reports, not what you declare on the campaign.

Approval and review

Campaigns are reviewed before they serve traffic. On some installations your operator has enabled automatic approval and yours will be live immediately; on others a manual review is required.

  • A rejected campaign has its total refunded to your balance, with a reason recorded.
  • Micro Jobs are always submitted for review — there is no automatic approval for them.
  • Banner campaigns can be paused and resumed by you. CPC, CPV and Micro Job campaigns cannot be paused once approved.
  • CPC, CPV and Banner campaigns cannot be deleted. Micro Jobs and the lockers can.

Known limitation: editing an existing CPC or CPV campaign currently fails with a “record not found” error on this build. If you need to change a campaign, create a new one.

Tracking your campaigns

Each campaign type has a statistics page in the advertiser area showing delivered volume, spend, clicks and conversion figures. You can filter by date range; CPC and CPV additionally allow filtering by user, IP and status.

Delivered counts come from the platform's own fraud checks. Traffic judged fraudulent is not counted and is not charged.

Troubleshooting

Symptom Cause and fix
My balance dropped without traffic arriving Expected. Campaign budgets are deducted when the campaign is created, before any delivery.
My campaign delivers nothing Check it is approved and not already complete. Then check your country list — country is the only targeting that is applied. A campaign targeting countries with no matching traffic will never deliver.
There is no budget or bid field Correct — neither exists. Pick a duration from the price table and enter the volume you want.
My device and browser targeting is ignored Known limitation. Only country targeting affects delivery.
Editing a CPC or CPV campaign errors Known bug on this build. Create a new campaign instead.
My campaign completed but the balance never recovered Completion means the volume was delivered — it is not a refund. Only a rejection returns funds. Undelivered budget is not automatically restored.
A Micro Job was rejected and I was not refunded Known bug on this build — Micro Job rejections do not currently refund. Contact your operator.
Delivered traffic is lower than expected Fraud filtering. Suspect traffic is discarded and not billed. A persistent shortfall on clean traffic is worth raising with your operator.
